Tested, working, all original, NON-upgraded genuine Apple II computer from 1979! This is pre-Apple II Plus, a REAL Apple II! Still has the original ROM chips featuring early Apple II Integer BASIC! Not many original II systems were produced, and most were upgraded to Applesoft BASIC ROMs once the Apple II Plus came out. This system is still the original configuration as it came from Apple, making it a highly collectible and rare computer now!
There are very few of these in existence that are still all original and in beautiful clean condition like one! This was a one-owner system and is super clean inside and out. Original Apple light beige color. I disassembled the system to check all connections and chips, and as you can see the inside is virtually spotless! No dust, no corrosion, stored properly inside over the years. It is hard to believe that this computer is now over 30 years old! Don't "watch" and wait, buy it now for your collection before the next person does!
This one has the early genuine one piece Apple keyboard with highly sought "raised" power light and "shiny" smooth surface keys as opposed to the flat power light and textured keys used later on the II and II+. Keyboard is date stamped on back side 1979 and is original to this unit. System also has the small black and white A2S1 serial # label indicative of an early II, dark green internal expansion slots with gold contacts, and the original original Apple power supply. This system comes from non-smoking home and was always stored inside.
The Serial # is: A2S1-28108 which is a fairly early unit. Original Apple II systems like this started with A2S1 for the serial number, later II+ systems started with A2S2. The handwritten number on the motherboard is 7935, indicating that the board was manufactured in the 35th week of 1979. All RAM sockets on motherboard are populated for a full 48K RAM. Can be upgraded to a maximum of 64K RAM with 16K RAM card.
This system has been obviously very well cared for in its lifetime. Tested and comes on like it should with the familiar 'beep' and power light on. The computer boots right up to the Old Apple II Monitor ROM with the asterisk(*) prompt of the Apple System Monitor at the bottom of a random text screen, just as it is supposed to do, and as described in the Apple II Reference manaul. From there you easily access Integer BASIC by holding "Ctrl and B" and pressing "Return" and up comes Integer BASIC with its ">" prompt. Just for comparison, later Apple II Plus systems came with an Autostart ROM which automatically displayed "Appe ][" at the top of the screen and the Applesoft BASIC "]" prompt.
Has REVISION 1 motherboard (indicated by single video pin on right rear of motherboard). Motherboard is date stamped 1978 and has the early 16k memory jumpers not found on later II boards, has Old Monitor and Integer BASIC in ROM, as can be identified by the numbers stamped on the ROM chips: (341-0001-00 Integer BASIC E0 1978, 341-0002-00 Integer BASIC E8 1978, 341-0003-00 Integer BASIC 1978 Integer BASIC F8 "Old Monitor ROM" 1978).
All photos were taken by me and are of the actual system you are buying, monitor shown only for demonstration of system operating, not included. This is for the Apple II unit and black power cord. Don't miss your chance to own this RARE original early Apple II computer!
