You are invited to bid on this beautiful Pre-World War II Alexander 103 Double French Horn in F & B flat, with detachable bell. The Alexander 103 has been the most popular horn among professionals worldwide since its introduction 100 years ago. Much imitated, its design remains largely the same today as it was a century ago. This horn has an unlacquered finish that is original to its manufacture and intended to enhance its rich tonality. I have owned this horn since 1968, but have had it in storage for most of that time. Recently this horn has been completely restored to playing condition by Osmun Music, including complete valve service, dent removal, and cleaning inside and out. Auction includes the horn, detachable bell, one mute, two mouthpieces and documentation of restoration work. Shipping cost will be $85 by Fedex ground or UPS ground within the lower 48 states - additional charges will apply for international shipping, or if you desire faster delivery, or if your desire additional insurance beyond the auction selling price. If you pay by check I will delay delivery until the check clears. Note: I am located in Florida (so this is where you will send payment), but the horn will be shipped from my brother's home in Rhode Island. Thanks for looking!
