This is a hardback book, with a dustwrapper. It is a first edition, first published in 1953 by Hodder & Stoughton.

Dustwrapper, in used condition. There is chipping, wear and closed tears around the edges and where the wrapper folds around the boards and spine, there is wear. 

Foxing inside and out.

Grubby on the back, but the front, spine and inside flaps have stayed bright.

Original price uncut, at the front and the back, ILLUSTRATED 7/6 net

So in good but used condition.

Page edges are grubby.

Binding is tight, the book leans.

Boards and spine very good.

Generally, the book is in used but good condition. 

This is a 1st edition, so although with faults, it may fill a gap in a collection.

Will cover the wrapper in a protective sleeve to prevent further wear.
