2008 Bike Friday Pocket Rocket folding bicycle. Fixed-gear frame with the heavy-duty option (extra stiff!). Full Dura-Ace track group. Your choice of 165mm or 167.5mm Dura-Ace Octalink track cranks. Includes sealed Dura-Ace track bottom bracket and 32-hole Dura-Ace high-flange hubs. 20" (451) wheels, front is radial laced, rear is a modified crow's foot lacing pattern. Your choice of Dura-Ace track chainring and cog. Izumi Model V chain; Cinelli Eubois Light handlebars; San Marco Concor saddle; Dura-Ace front brake (no rear brake); modified Dura-Ace 9-speed brake levers (shifter mechanisms have been gutted to save weight. I've always loved the ergonomics of these levers, so that's why I chose to do this). Includes fenders and rack, and a bicycle carrying bag. Also includes STI-touring handlebars from Bike Friday (basically, a flat bar with upward-curving bar-end handles). Does not include lights or pedals as pictured!!! Sizing: This bike was custom built to suit my geometry; I'm 5' 8" and typically ride a 54cm road bike. It may fit people taller or shorter than me (and depending on preferred riding style). Here are some measurements that you can use to compare to your current bike to determine if this Bike Friday will fit you: Center of bottom bracket to top of seat tube: 53.5 cm Top of seat tube to center of stem (right below the curve) 56.5 cm Reach, center of seat mount to center of handle bars: 69 cm Center of handlebars to ground: 90 cm Top of seat to bottom bracket center: 70 cm. Obviously, the seat can be moved up for taller riders, or down for shorter riders, and the handlebars can be adjusted up or down as well. The good: Never crashed, low miles, Dura Ace track components in very good condition!!!. The not so good: there are some scratches in the paint and decals (and on the rack) from folding the bike up and storing it in the bicycle-bag during my commutes on the train earlier this year. It's nothing unsightly (in my opinion), but I'm disclosing it as such so that you do not perceive you are receiving a "pristine" bicycle. The Dura Ace brake levers are also scratched up; I bought these used, as the shifting mechanisms were not functional (I would not gut a functional set of STIs just to use as brake levers...). I bought this bike for commuting on the train between Delaware and College Park, MD several times a month from February through July of this year, and it was used for that purpose. I plan to ship the bike in two packages. Shipping cost posted is an ESTIMATE for the lower 48 States. Please inquire for a more accurate shipping estimate. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or would like me to take measurements with the seat and handlebars set to different heights. |
