This is a high quality poster that I have made from an image of a circa 1872 part color lithograph advertising sign for Birdsell Mfg. Co. of South Bend, IN. The upper part of the sign depicts a multicolored wood cut of the "Monitor Combined" clover thresher and separator. The lower part of the sign has a black & white wood cut illustration of the Birdsell factory. The image is printed on 11 3/4 x 16 1/2 (297 x 420 MM) heavy weight matte paper that is suitable for framing.
John Comley Birdsell was granted a patent for his clover-huller in 1855 and he began building hullers on his farm at West Henrietta, NY until he moved his operation to South Bend, IN in 1863. In 1870, he and his sons built a factory which was the largest factory building in South Bend at that time. The company continued to manufacture clover and alfalfa hullers and farm wagons until 1931 when the company was bought out by the Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Co.
I will mark the back fo the poster with a rubber stamp that it is a REPRINT and I will include my address. Further reproduction of this image without permission is not granted.
I will combine orders for additional posters on the same date at no additional shipping cost. Please check on additional listings of reprints I have for sale in my Farm_Machinery_Advertising_Art store inventory.
