Black Cotton Two-Piece Dress with Bright Color Block Cat Applique

Small - Medium

 

Black Cotton Broad Cloth Two-Piece Dress. The full skirt with side pockets has a wide 3" Bright Red Elastic Band and back zipper. Pullover top has long shirt tails that can be worn over the skirt or tucked in for a blousen look. The top has charming color block appliques of cats and flowers.

Appliques are designed with cotton blocks of bold red, yellow, purple, and orange, stitched with a primitive style embroidery. The block appliques are framed with a trim of black sequins.

Skirt and top together is a spectacular design of wearable art. Drop shoulders and unstructured sleeves can be rolled up to 3/4 length. Wide scoop neck and longer back shirt tail are fine detail designs by Ned Gould for NR1.

Condition: Excellent! Black Broad Cloth cotton is a deep black without fading. The photographs displayed here have been lightened for detail. The Red Elastic waistband has one pulled piece of elastic at the top, see photo. I do not suggest cutting or pulling this piece of elastic, it may unravel the top edge of the waist band. However this pulled piece of elastic does not interfere with the overall look of the dress. This dress has been washed in the delicate cycle, line dried, pressed, and lint brushed. The previous owner of this dress had a cat or dog.
