Here is a Southern folk art black face jug. This face jug was made by Rock Fort, from Georgia. On the bottom is: Rock, 4-08 GA. The color is a shiny black with the lips being a redish pink color. This is totally black the white you see in the pictures is caused by the flash of the camera.
This black face jug measures about 4 1/4 inches tall and about 3 1/4 inches from ear to ear. This face jug is in good condition with no chips or cracks. The eyes and teeth are made from a porcelain clay.
