This is an auction for a black and white photograph called “3 Sides Up”. This picture was taken in downtown Chicago in the spring of 2006. I have been to Chicago several times and have always found it a very photogenic city. The statue surrounded by three buildings with the open sky above portrays a feeling of entrapment and liberation all in the same image. It is safe to say this picture reflects an industrial style and would look great in a living room or an office.
A little about myself and my photos:
I am a freelance photographer and I have been taking capturing “still life” so to speak for over 12 years. My interest in photography began in a college course and has bloomed into a huge part of my life. My style of photography ranges from abstract to minimalism, from color to black and white, from industrial to human emotions. I have done a great deal of traveling and I always am able to bring my camera with me, which translate to a wonderful variety of “photographable moments”.
For years now I have been giving my photographs to family and friends as gifts. The photos were praised and displayed with such positive regard that it was suggested to me that I should try and sell my photographs. After some introspective, I decided that I would try and sell my works to the public. I have sold photographs in the past and even on eBay.
A couple of things to consider when buying a photo from me:
- The photograph you are buying, you are buying from me, not a business or corporation. Therefore the origin of this image isn’t entirely for profit.
- The photography you are buying is copyrighted by Joshua E. Hoppock (so “copyrighted 2007” will not be on your photo when you receive it).
- I don’t include mats or frames in my auctions. Why, because it keeps the cost of shipping down and allows you to frame or mat the photo the way you desire.
- My photos are sold at the standard size of 8 x 10 and in the style of glossy, also done for cost reasons.
- My photographs are taken with an “old school” 35mm SLR manual camera which takes film, not a digital. I prefer the tactile experience of a manual camera and I feel the image has more “personality” than a digital camera.
Item come from a smoke free home and shipping is a flat rate of $3.50. International buyers, if want to pay the shipping I will send it to the Moon. Therefore, just e-mail me your postal/zip code before the auction is over so I can tell you what the cost of shipping will be.
Payment needs to be made by PayPal within 72 hours of the auction ending. I also combine shipping if more than one auction is won.
If there is a problem with the item once it arrives please let me know. I am sure something can be worked out. I have excellent feedback and I want to make sure I can make my customer happy, so please contact me before you leave feedback if you have a problem with the order.
Also please don’t bid if you don’t plan to pay. It wastes my time and other “potential” buyers’ time. It is sad I have to say this, but people bidding and not paying still happens.
I do have other photos listed.
If you have any questions, please e-mail.
Happy Bidding!!!!!!!!!!!
