You are buying ONE WELL ROOTED PLANT that is 2' - 3' (yes FEET!) long of BLUE DAWN FLOWER MORNING GLORY. This is not a "rooted cutting", but an established plant with excellent roots growing in a 16oz container. It will be shipped in the container with the soil!

Full planting instructions will be included with each order. Each vine will easily reach 30' when established.

Family: Convolvulaceae (kon-volv-yoo-LAY-see-ee)

Genus: Ipomoea (ip-oh-MEE-uh)
Species: acuminata (ah-kew-min-AY-tuh)
Synonyms:Ipomoea indica / I. Learii

This vine is a hardy perennial to USDA Zone 9 (for certain, because that is where I live), but I have had people tell me they grow these in the Carolina's and near Dallas, TX, which is zone 8. They will also grow well in large pots for northern states so you can protect them in the winter.

These beautiful vines have an abundance of electric blue flowers that fade as the day goes on to a pink-purple. They don't really close up like annual morning glories, but stay open most of the day. These vines do not get seeds, but do spread with runners along the ground. These can grow in partial shade or full sun in average, well draining soil. Easy maintence plant - will grow anywhere! Do you have an embankment that needs a lift, or an arbor or archway . . . a dead tree, a power pole, even that old fence (or new fence!) - you name it, these beautiful vines will add color and interest anywhere you plant them!

Since these spread with runners along the ground, make sure to leave enough room on the ground around the vine for the runners it will send out.

SHIPPING SPECIFICS:

These are shipped bare-root wrapped in damp newspaper to keep the plants healthy during shipping. I use PRIORITY MAIL to assure timely delivery. ALL leaves will be removed from the cuttings but the leaves will grow back quickly when they are re-established in their new home. Shipping of plants is done on Monday's and Tuesday's ONLY to avoid plants sitting in a warehouse or truck over a weekend awaiting delivery. Payment must be received no later than 5pm EST on Monday for the plants to go out the next day; otherwise it will be shipped the following week.

COLD WEATHER WARNING:

My plants are TROPICAL - COLD WEATHER WILL HURT THEM. If the temperatures (based on the online forecast) in your area pose a danger to these plants, I WLL NOT SHIP THEM UNTIL THE TEMPERATURES ARE SUITABLE. I will let you know, via email, if your plants are being held. If you want them shipped, regardless of the weather, you take 100% of the responsiblity for the healthy delivery of the plants; I cannot make any guarantees of safe delivery if I feel the temperatures are too low.

INSURANCE:

Insurance is optional. Keep in mind that insurance on plants covers them only if they don't arrive - if plants are damaged in shipping (from heat, cold, etc.), Postal Insurance DOES NOT COVER THAT.
