Hi, I am a Chester County, PA folk artist and a second generation antique dealer. Since I am now painting full time, the antiques have taken a back seat. While I no longer have an antique shop, I still have a passion for old things! Often when I am out looking for interesting things to paint on, I find other great vintage treasures that I bring home to share with you.
Here is a nice blue opalescent glass dish that is shown in "The Standard Encyclopiedia of Opalescent Glass" by Edwards. It is listed as a Whimsy made from the sugar bowl of Swag with Brackets pattern. The maker is Jefferson Glass. This whimsy bowl dates between 1900-1907. The edge is decorated with Jefferson's signature Cranberry frit.
Condition: Excellent - nothing more than a few tiny tiny nicks on the feet.
