  Audio Sample 1:

This is the First Guitar in history to be made with Balinese Temple wood which is a very strong yet light wood indigenous to Bali. This wood has been used for centuries by Balinese craftsmen for carvings that have decorated Balinese Hindu temples. After 8 months of testing this wood - we are very proud to introduce Balinese Temple Wood to the world of Guitar building - as you can see from our photographs, this wood is very beautiful with deep textures and a very light greenish tint. We have discovered that the acoustic properties of this wood are extraordinary - the wood is amazingly light yet strong and the guitar rings loud and beautifully clear. We will soon begin experimenting with this wood for the tops of our guitars as well.  This guitar was delicately hand made under the supervision and guidance of master American Luther and Educator, George Morris and Master Balinese Wood Carver Wayan Tuges. The highest quality specially selected woods were chosen specifically for their sound, resonance, beauty and acoustic characteristics and this guitar has gone through a rigorous series of quality control checks before it was given a serial number and offered for sale. The sound of each Blueberry guitar is unique and our guitars are known to produce extraordinary volume and clarity while at the same time being incredibly light and very easy to play.

It takes the combined skills of both a master Luthier and a Master Carver over 60 days to produce each Blueberry guitar. This guitar was completed on September 9th, 2008 and is our 266th guitar. There is a fingerprint of the Master Balinese Wood Carver on the inside label to certify its authenticity. The top is Alaskan Spruce and the carving on the top was stained with colored dyes. The back and sides are Balinese Temple Wood and the neck is a combination of Ebony, and Mahogany. The bridge, fret board and headstock are Ebony and the fret board inlay of Libra scales and the figure is a combination of Maple and Mother of Pearl. The Rosette is mother of pearl . The nut and saddle are bone. There is an double action adjustable truss rod in this guitar that uses a 5/32 Alan Key

All Blueberry Guitars are made with solid woods and use standard wood thicknesses - we do not use thicker woods to adjust for the carvings.

ABOUT TOP CARVED GUITARS
The tops of most guitars are made of either Spruce or Cedar. These are very soft woods and are almost impossible to carve into. Until recently, Blueberry guitars concentrated on carving on the backs, sides, headstock and bridge. After more than two years of experimentation and intense trial and error with different chisels and carving methods, our top three Balinese Blueberry woodcarvers have developed the skill to carve onto the tops of guitars without damaging the structural integrity of the soft wood tops. Blueberry Guitars does not use thicker than standard woods on any part of our guitars. It is the unique skill of the Balinese woodcarvers and their very specialized chisels that allow them to carve intricate details onto very soft thin woods. One of the secrets to the sweet and clear Blueberry sound is the direct result of the increased resonation caused by the fact that our guitars have contoured carved grooves on the top, sides and backs.
This is a unique signature feature exclusive to Blueberry Guitars.

THE GRAND CONCERT MODEL

This is a finger-picker’s instrument. The smaller, shallower body is lighter on its feet, and quicker to respond to the subtlest nuance. It is bright and clear, and the greater separation of tones gives the finger-stylist a wider range of expression. No lack of power here, however. The light, rounded body pumps sound very efficiently and the deep waist stabilizes the instrument when played sitting down. This is a very nimble and expressive guitar worthy of the finest finger technique.

Some Blueberry Guitar Statistics And Information
All Blueberry guitars are handmade and hard carved on the Island of Bali. Bali is home to the most gifted woodcarving artists in the world, whose traditions go back for thousands of years. Once our guitars are completed, they are sent to Montreal where tuners are added and final setup, inspections and adjustments are made. Prior to this project there had never been a guitar produced on Bali Island. It took twenty months from the conceptualization of Blueberry guitars in August 2005 until our Master Luthier agreed that our guitars were perfect and had his approval to be sold. The first “perfect” Blueberry guitars started arriving in Montreal from the Blueberry Guitar workshop at the beginning of May 2007. Most of our guitars are now in the hands of musicians and collectors. At full capacity, the Blueberry Guitar workshop can produce about 25guitars per month. This is broken down by Dreadnoughts (45%), Grand Concerts (45%) and Classical (10%). Each guitar is handmade with different exotic woods and has carvings with various degrees of intricacy. We have had very favorable responses from accomplished musicians as well as fantastic receptions at trade shows such as NAMM, MIAC and SIMM. There has been a tremendous amount of media coverage from local and international newspapers, online and print magazines and TV. The suggested retail prices for Blueberry guitars range from $2,250 for an entry model, $2,850.00 for a midlevel model and $3,500.00 to $10,000.00 for a Masterpiece series or custom made Blueberry guitar. Our goal is to always produce guitars that are acoustically and artistically perfect.

About Blueberry Guitars (www.blueberryguitars.com - eBay Store)

Blueberry Guitars Launch Event:

Nashville Sessions With Blueberry Guitars:

Blueberry guitars is the inspiration of Montreal businessman and musician Danny Fonfeder who conceived the idea to marry outstanding craftsmanship to extraordinary art. American luthier and educator, George Morris, and Balinese woodcarver, Wayan Tuges, bring together two great craft traditions, combining the best of Western technology and expertise, with the best woodcarvers in the world.

Each guitar is handmade and unique in detail and materials. Each is a work of art worthy of the finest musicians. A special group of craftsmen add their exceptional skills to every guitar before it is tested and judged ready to be called a Blueberry Instrument. Blueberry Guitars embody a marriage of East and West. They celebrate the joining of mind and spirit, functionality and artful reverence. Each instrument will be a great musical inspiration and serve as a constant reminder of what artists can achieve. No two are alike. All meet the exacting standards demanded by great musicianship and art connoisseurs.

Recent recording artists playing Blueberry guitars include Nashville session players Dino Bradley (of the Hank Williams Junior’s band) Susanna Barrette, Josh Finlayson , Universal artist and 2 time Juno award winner George Canyon and best selling Canadian artists Paul Deslaurier and Rob Lutes.

Blueberry guitars are instruments of delicate precision. Because they are not mass-produced, they can afford to be finely braced for optimal performance. They are therefore noticeably richer in harmony, greater in sensitivity, more dynamic in range and possess superior sounds. A Blueberry serves the musician who aspires for greater artistic expression.

The best quality woods have been sourced throughout the world to be used at our workshops. African ebony, spruce, cedar, sycamore, East Indian Rosewood, Macassar Ebony, Tasmanian Blackwood and Maple have each been selected for their exceptional quality towards the final sound. The thin, hard finish that we use on our woods, very similar to French polish, but without the danger of softening or alcohol damage, never dampens the sound with too much weight. It won’t crack, peel or chip and is especially wear resistant.

Playability is a major consideration when designing each guitar. All Blueberry fretboards are wood-bound so the feel of the neck is always smooth and free of sharp frets. Hardwood laminates stiffen the neck, adding to the instrument’s ability to hold its tune. Set-up and intonation are always designed for playing ease and perfect tuning. With such forethought and consideration throughout the process, Blueberry is confident to satisfy even those that demand perfection.
