In this auction we have a bent nickel plated curved bombilla. This commercially made bombilla is an example of the unique artistry of South American craftsmanship.

In our travels through South America we come across products that we think are unique for our customers. This is one of them. It is not an artisan made product but we felt it was appropriate.

THIS TRULY IS A UNIQUELY HANDCRAFTED BOMBILLA

This unique Bombilla is nickel plated and has gold tone accents. It is curved for ease of use, measures 7.25 inches long and is equipped with a heat sink that keeps the heat away from the drinkers lips. It is very easy to clean, just remove the threaded bulb and rinse with warm and mild detergent.
It is used to drink Yerba Mate from the mate gourd. The straw ensures that only the beverage and not the leaves reach the drinkers lips.

Mate is consumed mainly in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and southern Brazil. It is brewed from the dried leaves and stems of the Yerba Mate tree (Ilex paraguarensis).

 
This Bombilla was created with a lot of care and dedication.
