Edited by George A. Cruger. Published in Richmond by The Virginia Museum: 1970. A lovely and elegant catalog of this important loan exhibition. The crisp black & white photographs illustrate the pieces beautifully, and also include details, decorations and inscriptions in some cases; the fine text includes introductions by Parke Rouse, Jr. and Kathryn Buhler. A sweet song of a catalog. Softcover. 10"x8.5", 112 pages, black & white illustrations; light cover soil. The cover of this catalog features an embossed design which really does not show up except as a murky shadow in this picture- but that grey stuff on the right is the embossed design, not dirt. -
