Border Punch PB Decorative #138 Quilling-Cardmaking

This is the border punch #138 from The Punch Bunch and it creates a decorative border of tiny dots and a wavy scallop border.

  Border punches can be wonderful and effective embellishments to your scrapbooking, cardmaking, and other paper creations. Use these along the edges of your cards, doorknob hangers, tags, notes cards, or stationary. You can punch them directly on the project or punch from a wide strip of paper (I used 5/8 inch wide quilling strips here) and then use that strip as an element on your project. And don’t forget when using these punches along an edge you will also get a top section and an excess bottom strip. On the example here the part below the actual decoration can be saved and used elsewhere.

  One of the elements that is most often overlooked is the fact that the positive pieces, the little shapes that punch out of the paper, can also be used to enhance or decorate projects. The negative part is what is left behind on the item you used the punch on.

  In addition some of these border punches produce very different and creative shapes, like tiny hearts, leaves, holly, etc.  Even in the mini size punch category it isn’t possible to get shapes this small. Especially useful are the tiny dots, these make perfect tiny circles to use as animal eyes on other punch art projects and regular punches to make those are hard to find. These tiny shapes can be used in all sorts of decorative ways. Because of their minute size they are perfect for all the smaller projects. So, when punching borders don’t forget to save all those punchies for future decorating.
