Bottom Wave MB-5 Deluxe 60 5 String Jazz Bass Fodera

We are proud to be selling a few BRAND NEW Bottom Wave Basses! These beautiful basses are crafted in Japan, and feature Fodera custom preamps and Aero pickups.  These high quality instruments are finding themselves in the hands of notable players such as Dominique DiPiazza, Felix Pastorius and Komatsu Hideyuki.   

This particular bass is a 60s Style 5 String Jazz Bass.  It has the classic warm yet defined tone you'd expect from a vintage Jazz bass.  Kicking in the Fodera active preamp gives you a little more tonal flexibility without drastically coloring the tone.  Boosting doesn't sound harsh, and cutting doesn't loose any presence.  Boost the bass and treble and cut the mids and you get a KILLER slap tone!  Boost the bass, solo the neck pickup and cut the highs and you get a thick and juicy reggae tone that kicks you in the gut.  Solo the bridge pickup and you get the perfect Jaco burp!

In comparison to the 70's style, the 60's style has a more growly midrange.  Both basses sound dead even up and down the board. 

These basses sound so great, our friend Nick Epifani (the genius behind Epifani Custom Sound, who turned us on to these basses) uses one in his workshop to demo his amps!
