Bottom Wave MB-5 Deluxe 70 5 String Jazz Bass Fodera

We are proud to be selling a few BRAND NEW Bottom Wave Basses! These beautiful basses are crafted in Japan, and feature Fodera custom preamps and Aero pickups.  These high quality instruments are finding themselves in the hands of notable players such as Dominique DiPiazza, Felix Pastorius and Komatsu Hideyuki.   

This particular bass is a 70s Style 5 String Jazz Bass.  It has an incredibly punchy yet warm tone that's even across the spectrum.  You can go from slap to fingerstyle to chordal playing without having to adjust any tone controls!  The Fodera preamp is very transparent, yet very effective! It adds just the right amount of boost or cut with out sounding harsh or losing presence. 

In comparison to the 60's bass, the 70's style is slightly more scooped in the mids, with a little more top and bottom.  It has a KILLER slap tone that will cut through any band setting!  Every note jumps out from the fingerboard, and there's no dead spots to be found. 

These basses sound so great, our friend Nick Epifani (the genius behind Epifani Custom Sound, who turned us on to these basses) uses one in his workshop to demo his amps!
