Bourgeois JOMC Jumbo Orchestra Cutaway Guitar Here we have a near-mint condition Dana Bourgeois JOMC (Jumbo Orchestra Model Cutaway) guitar. We are authorized dealers for Bourgeois guitars (which are handcrafted in Maine—for more info, see pantheonguitars.com), and were pleased to get this one in as a used instrument. People often like to know what the history/story is on our used instruments. Here’s the tale on this one: This guitar’s former owner purchased it at a school charity auction for the main purpose of making a financial contribution to the school. As a “hobbyist” guitar player, he felt he was not playing it enough, and would like to find a good home for it. The guitar is in superb condition, with only the faintest of cosmetic marks on the back and the lightest of pick marks on the pickguard (we’ve seen worse on “new” guitars that sit around shops for while). So you’re essentially getting a near-mint Bourgeois at a great discount (new retail price is $3,995). According to the serial number of 3405, it was built in 2005. Here is a description and specifications on the JOMC: The JOMC is an original body style developed by Dana in the late 80's, in response to players' requests for a mid-sized guitar having the balance and clarity of an OM--but with a bigger presence. The idea was simple: Start with the OM outline, enlarge it a bit, play around with the curves, deepen the sides, then add Dana's trademark cutaway. The result is Bourgeois’ most versatile guitar; larger than an OM, smaller than a Dreadnought, capable of handling almost any playing style you can imagine, and equally capable of operating in solo or ensemble situations. If you need one guitar to convincingly cut a variety of styles--on stage, in the studio, or just around the house--it's hard to think of a more useful guitar than the standard JOMC. The standard JOMC comes with Indian rosewood back and sides, and a Premium Grade Sitka spruce top. It features ivoroid binding on the neck, headstock and fretboard and body, abalone rosette, and nickel Waverly tuners; the package is completed with Dana's original headstock and backstrip inlay. This guitar has an active piezo under-bridge pickup installed (generally not included in the new $3995 retail price). We cannot be sure what brand of pickup it is, but we’ve plugged it in and it sounds great. Our luthier has also inspected this guitar and could find no issues with playability or structural concerns. Action checks out to 4/32” on the low E and 3/32” on the high E. Width at the nut measures 1 ¾ inches. The deluxe TKL case pictured is included. Shipping by UPS Ground, fully insured, will be $50 within the continental US. International bidders, please see our information below on international shipping and contact us for a ship quote.
About our eBay listings: We take the time to write an individualized description on each and every item. We realize that buying instruments sight unseen can be very tricky, and we fully disclose any cosmetic flaws and playability issues on the item. If we are selling a new item and there is any evidence of shopwear, this will be included in the description (normally we will have also discounted the price appropriately). Check our feedback and you’ll see many of our buyers commented that the instrument arrived to them in even better condition that they were expecting. You can bid/buy with confidence—we offer a 7 day return policy.
Notes on international shipping: Serious bidders or buyers outside the continental US must contact us for a shipping quote before purchasing. Please include your city, country and postal code. We generally answer shipping inquiries Monday through Friday. Some information and guidelines for you: our preferred method of shipping internationally is USPS Express Mail. This method carries an insurance limit of $650. If the item is valued at over this cost, we can only ship by this method if the buyer assumes responsibility for any amount over $650 should the item be lost or damaged in shipping. To fully insure more expensive items, we will have to use UPS Worldwide or Global Express, both of which can range in cost from $300-$700. Some countries such as the UK, Australia, New Zealand & Hungary have very restrictive size limits on Express Mail, and in these cases we MUST ship items like guitars and banjos via UPS. You may have to pay customs duties as determined by your local jurisdiction upon the item’s arrival. We have no way of anticipating what these costs may be. Sorry, we do not adjust invoices to reflect a lower price for customs duties.
7-DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE OUR QUALITY SCALE: This instrument is in NEAR MINT condition. BIDDERS -- We only accept bids and purchases from registered users with good ratings.
