The Scout Oath™ is the three-part pledge that serves as the basis for participation in the Boy Scouts. In order to achieve the Tenderfoot® rank – the first rank earned as a Boy Scout – boys must first accurately recite the Scout Oath, which promotes the values of honest, good conduct, and respect for others. In professing the Scout Oath, they promise to always fulfill their duty to serve God and country, help others, and remain physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
This coin honors the tradition of the Scout Oath and salutes all those who have joined the Boy Scouts. The obverse features the Boy Scouts of America® Stylized Universal Emblem. The reverse displays the words of the Scout Oath.
Struck in a brass alloy and finished in antique bronze, the obverse side of this oval-shaped coin is accented with enamel highlights. Each coin comes packaged with a detailed header card that describes the importance of the Scout Oath in the formation of loyal, honest, and dedicated Scouts.
