This auction is for a 1.83g piece of the Brenham meteorite. This famous pallasite comes from Kansas and has a great appearance. Homesteader Eliza Kimberly began collecting these strange rocks in 1882, and in 1890 scientists confirmed their meteoritic origin. The strewnfield must have been known about prior to 1882, because Brenham meteorites have been found alongside Native American artifacts as far away as Ohio - including jewelry fashioned out of the stones.
You get the meteorite, gem case, and ID card shown below. The cube shown for scale measures 1cm and is not included.
