British Virgin Islands 1974 Coins Some Silver Proof Set

The 1974 coinage of the BVI portrays six exotic birds that are native to the Islands. The $1 coin is silver and the $.01 coin is bronze. The other coins are cupro-nickel. The distinctive coins in this collection were designed by Gilroy Roberts, who sculpted the portrait of JFK for the US $.50, and whose bird medals are highly prized by collectors throughout the world.
