This auction is for a bronze sculpture by the well known French artist Jean Louis Chauvin [1889-1976]. It is signed and numbered 2/5. It is in excellent condition, and it is about 8 inches high. There is the remnants of an auction tag on the base, which I have left on there. There is also a stick-on tape which says "hirondelle 1953...I was going to consign this to Christies a few years ago and they wanted it with a 4 to 6 thousand dollar estimate at auction, but I never followed up on the situation. A large example of one of his bronzes sold for 44,000 at auction in 2005. I am offering this with a reasonable opening bid...
