Lost wax bronze casting of
Duck, created by German craft artist Karen Schmidt. and commissioned by Modern
Art Foundry. Edition size is 10. Measures 8 inches tall, 5 ½ inches wide and 6
½ inches long, with a beautiful green brown patina accenting surface qualities,
highlights, and details. This is signed, with foundry markings present. Weight
is 6 ½ pounds. Two mounting holes are present and pins are available
if desired.
Karen
Schmidt lives in a small farm town near Bremen Germany. She is the cousin of Modern Art Foundry's
former President, Robert Spring. For many years she has worked in terracotta and
created small figures and animals, which are painted and sold in local shops in
Germany. During a trip to New York City, she created works exclusively for Modern Art
Foundry's Alternative Space and Spring Gallery.
