The exceptionally detailed replication of this nocturnal creature measures 2 inches long by 1 1/4 inches high by 1 3/8 inches wide with a lucent light and dark brown patina accenting surface qualities, highlights, and details. Foundry markings, artists initials present. Weight 3 ozs.
Karen Schmidt lives in a small farm town near Bremen Germany. She is the cousin of Modern Art Foundry's former President, Robert Spring. For many years she has worked in terracotta and created small figures and animals, which are painted and sold in local shops in Germany. During a trip to New York City, she created works exclusively for Modern Art Foundry's Alternative Space and Spring Gallery.
