Description: Kate Graham had it all – beautiful looks, great friends and a millionaire husband. But her perfect life is turned upside down when her husband files for divorce, only to be found murdered days later, allegedly at the hands of her best friend, Jim. Soon Kate comes face to face with the real killer, the brilliant and handsome Michael Mathis, who demands a 10% cut of her inheritance as his "fee" for the murder. When she refuses to pay, he threatens to plant evidence linking her to her husband's killing. Kate goes to the police, but rather than believe her, they begin to view her as a suspect. Desperate to prove her innocence and save her best friend, she sets out to find her tormentor. Soon she discovers that she's dealing with a serial killer who has left a trail of similar victims scattered across the country. Acting on a hunch, she travels to a wealthy resort town to warn the wife of billionaire George Fordham that her soon to be ex-husband is Mathis's next target. But Mathis manages to stay one step ahead of her, striking again and then vanishing. On the run now from the police, Kate's dangerous investigation leads her to Chicago, Mathis's hometown. Breaking into his apartment, she discovers chilling evidence of his murderous schemes, including photos of her and her late husband. When Mathis surprises her, a violent struggle ensues in which he takes her hostage. The police finally catch up with her, but Mathis kills them before she can be rescued. Now she must fight him with everything she's got or become this deranged killer's latest victim.
