Brown-Westhead Moore Meissen Blue Onion Rim Soup Bowl




















A lovely antique 19th Century large cobalt blue and white rimmed soup bowl in the Meissen (Blue Onion) pattern made by Brown-Westhead Moore & Co. of Staffordshire, England. The company was in business from 1862-1904.  The bowl measures 9" in diameter and has a scalloped edge.

The bowl is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. Cobalt blue and white are shiny and bright. It has some light marks from usage and some rough spots on the edge where the glaze has worn.

 

Has the Brown-Westhead Moore backstamp and the maker's name is impressed on the bottom.
