$1 from THE MAINE BANK of Brunswick, Maine. Notes on this Bank and from this city are seldom offered. This note is listed as ME 220-G2a in Haxby and W 17 and Rarity 7 in the Wait Reference. This note is authenticated and graded by PMG as Very Fine 20.
The note has terrific vignettes, ONE overprinted in red, nice signatures, and wonderful eye appeal. It is properly noted as Punch Cancelled (as thes notes are found)--NOTE that THE MAINE BANK (1857-64) became the First National Bank of Brunswick. PMG is known for conservative grading and their holder is top quality. This is a great opportunity to own a PMG certified and truly scarce note from a very tough bank.
