Brush-McCoy
Footed Vase (or Planter)
Rich
Glaze,
Ribbed Sides, with Handles
Offered
for auction: A
very lovely planter or vase I believe is from Brush Pottery, which
sometimes called this a footed planter and other times a footed
vase or flower arranger! (See the Sanford Guide to Brush-McCoy
Pottery, page 121, for examples.) This large piece is glazed in
a rich golden tan color. It measures 5 inches high
at the rim and 6 inches
wide across the rim.
There
are no chips, cracks, crazing, or hairlines to this pretty
piece. It is in excellent condition: very clean and well
defined, with no dings, and overall free of any defects that I can
find. It is also very clean on the inside.
This
footed pot / vase is not marked, but has the characteristic
rounded wedge feet of Brush-McCoy (see photo at right), probably from
the 1970s.
