Bud Gardner 8' Gidget GTO Model Surfboard (Sold)

On May 6, 1966, Bud Gardner started building his brand of  beautiful surfboards, on May 6, 2009,  Bud Gardner started his 44th year of building his brand of beautiful surfboards and in all that time, he has personally shaped and colored each and every one of them.  He  is one of the last original surfboard builders from the 60's still building superior surfboards and was honored in 2007 by being nominated for Induction into the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame in the Pioneer Surfboard Builders Division for 2008. 

This is  the last Gardner "Gidget" model surfboard that will be made.  It is the last Gardner "Gidget G.T.O." model blank made with superior Clark Foam ordered before Clark Foam chose to go out of business.  It has a special custom ordered rocker in the nose and tail.  It has  3  stringers arranged in the Gardner G.T.O. style.  A custom "Gidget G.T.O." blank like this cannot be duplicated by other foam companies.  Sorry all you Wahini surf riders out there, but when this Gardner "Gidget G.T.O." is gone, it is gone forever so guys, get this for your favorite surfer girl and she'll love you forever. 

The Gardner "Gidget" model is designed for surfer girls.  It's like what the big guys ride except it's shorter, thinner, and narrower, eliminating the fat flotation that surfer girls don't need, thus making it an easier riding and more maneuverable surfboard.  It is 8' long, 21 1/2" wide, 18" nose, 2 1/2" thick, 13 1/2" hips.  The Gardner "Gidget G.T.O." model has a 4 1/2" Ram Spoiler tail.  It is shaped with 50/50 Egg Rails with extra kick in the nose and in the tail. This Gardner "Gidget G.T.O." model has matching laminated redwood and balsawood nose and tail blocks, concave nose and a step down deck.  It has fiberglass protective tinted red bumper beads that glow when the sun shines on them and besides looking real cool they virtually eliminate nose and tail dings. Total hot pink color.   It's laminated with two layers of 7 1/2 oz. fiberglass on the deck, one layer of 7 1/2 oz. fiberglass on the bottom.
