This is a used Buescher French Horn with both the F and Eb slides

Serial Number 334662

This is from our school music department and has seen extensive use over the years.

As with most school horns this one has seen it's share of bumps, A look at the pictures shows denting, dinging and crinkling in many areas. The lead pipe is straight and true and while there is some denting near the hand hold, it is in much better shape than many I've seen. The only evidence of soldering or repair work on the instrument is the apparent re-soldering of the lyre holder.

All slides including the Eb slide move freely and smoothly.

The valve strings need to be replaced as do the stopper corks on the valves. The third valve was strung with a nylon string to make sure the horn worked and the valve didn't leak. While the screws do not match on the string posts, they do all work fine and are not stripped. The valves all move smoothly and freely.

There is no mouthpiece included. What you see in the pictures is what you will receive. 

The instrument comes with the original hard case in less than perfect condition. It does still have the original leather holding strap in working condition. All hinges are tight and move freely. The handle is a home-made chain and tape but works well and is comfortable. All three latches work and hold securely.

There is no key for the case. There is an identification number painted on the case in red.

The inside of the case is old but servicable and has that "vintage brass aroma" found in older horns. Nothing as severe as some I've encountered, but enough to let you know it's beed around.
