Chicory Seeds
Scientific Name: Cichorium intybus.
Common Names: Chicory, Blue Sailors, Coffee Weed, Wild Succory and Succory.
Plant duration: Perennial.
Origin: Europe.
Hardiness: Hardy. Can tolerate drought.
Zone: 3-9.
Region of cultivation: North America except Colorado where Chicory is forbidden. Don??t buy if you live in Colorado.
Soil type: Any light, sandy and well drained soil.
Soil humidity: Moderate.
Soil temperature: 65 to 75 degrees.
Seed sowing spacing: 18-24 inches.
Seed sowing depth: 1/16 inches from the soil surface.
Seed sowing time: Fall or Spring.
Seed germination: 1-3 weeks from the time the seeds are sown.
Sun exposure: Complete.
Growth: Easy and quick. In the first year only plant and leaves grow. Flowering happens in the second year.
