This is a one of a kind custom built Bundy C Cornet that was proportionally cut down, (to maintain proper intonation) from a Bb cornet.
This horn has a Holton leadpipe and has the popular frosted or matte finish with designs on the bell and valve casings. There is a reinforced right thumb rest installed on the underside of the leadpipe to prevent wear in this area,it is not a patch. The valves are in very good condition with very little wear and it has excellent compression. The valve buttons are solid brass and are depressed in the middle like the French Selmer buttons. The slides are all free with a saddle on the first valve slide and there are no dents or dings. The bell does not have a forward brace which allows the bell to resonate a little more. It has a typical cornet sound with a pretty free upper register, and intonation is very good in my opinion. Bore was measured at the second valve at 0.458.
This is another creation by "The Brassman" Jeff Johnson. For those who aren't fimiliar with Jeff, he has a huge shop outside of Kansas City, and does brass overhauls and repairs for a living for many university's and school's in the mid-west. I have sold several of Jeff's custom built C horns on eBay with excellent satisfaction.
This is a great opportunity to own a C Cornet at a resonable price. It comes with a case in excellent condition and no mouthpiece. This horn does takes a standard cornet mouthpiece.
