This auction is for a used bench cutter press kit with cutting board.
I purchased this kit from Mr. Button. I have used three of these bench cutter presses over the past few years and have never had any problems. Mechanically speaking, there are very few moving parts and this press should give you years of service. In the event something does go wrong and you do need a replacement part, Mr. Button has been in service since 1973. (I am in no way affiliated with Mr. Button Co.)
No dies are included with this auction. A die will need to be purchased separately from Mr. Button, Tecre or Badge Parts - depending upon the size of button you are making.
This bench cutter has been used to punch button graphics using Mr. Button, Tecre or Badge Parts dies. Due to the difference in the heights of the dies, i had a thinner steel plate made to compensate. These plates are easily changed with a standard screwdriver or hex wrench.
How does it work? The method i used was to print all my graphics and then staple 5-10 sheets together (staple at each corner). Then, center the die over the graphic, slide the cutting board under the steel plate and pull the handle. You are literally cutting several graphics in a few seconds!
How good does it work? In my opinion, this press works excellent - even for punching one single graphic at a time! The bench cutter press saves time and cuts a more accurate circle than the traditional circle cutters. Please ask any questions you may have and i will do my best to answer them.
Note: I never tried to cut more than 10 sheets of standard paper (20lb.-24lb.) at one time. My recommendation is 5-10 pages.
The base of the press itself measures 12", requires a very small footprint for operation and may be mounted to a table or working surface. The handle measures approximately 12". The press is all metal construction - not sure of which type of metal.
The cutting board is measures 9 1/2" x 12" x 1/2" and is made of high density Polyethylene for a sturdy base. Keep in mind, when the top side of the cutting board wears out, remove the bolts, flip it over and you will have a brand new cutting board. Both sides of the cutting board can be used and i have never purchased an extra cutting board.
