On offer here is a first edition first impression of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, the first in the famous Narnia series. Published by Geoffrey Bless, London, in 1950. Beautifully illustrated by Pauline Baynes, including wonderful colour frontispiece.

173 pages. Hardback with and original dust jacket from the sixth impression.

Boards with some fading, darkening to spine, light marking, bumping to extremeties

The fep has a dedication (dated Christmas 1950), with an address stamp, also the remains of what was probably a small sticky ownership label.

Internally very good condition, with the following exceptions: small pencil lines to two pages, small area of red crayon to final illustration, rear endpapers with signs of partially rubbed out drawings

The illustrated, price-clipped dust wrapper is from the sixth impression.  It is frayed, with some loss, mainly to spine and back panel.  Small ink stain to front

Rare to find a first edition with original dust jacket: offered with low start price and no reserve!
