C1880 Antique Child Doll Quilt Four Patch Hand Pieced

This is a wonderful C1880 Antique Child Doll Quilt in a Four Patch design and is all Hand Pieced and hand quilted. It measures 17 1/2" x 14 1/2" and the four patch blocks are about 1 1/2' square. Please notice the double pink calico "diamond" in the center that the four patch blocks create. The cotton calico fabrics are wonderful. The quilt is hand quilted with tiny stitches in diagonal intersecting lattice rows. All the fabrics are cotton including the backing fabric. There is a thin batting inside the layers, and it has the original hand stitched binding. The scale and proportion is wonderful for its size and for what it was intended on a doll bed. There are three very tiny holes to the front and several small age spots with very light age "dust " as you would expect. But no soil. The design is just wonderful as well as the choice of fabrics.
