This auction is for a Thermal Industries TC-8 Environmental Chamber (230VAC, 40A, 3Ph), as shown. It looks to be in good cosmetic condition, showing some signs of wear. It is still within calibration (calibrated 6/08, due 6/09). It powers up, and the digital controller powers up, and I was able to adjust the set point from -40 to 100°C. With the power, alarm, heat and cool switches all flipped on, the chamber did heat up to 100°, and then it began fluctuating between about 94 to 96°C and 107°C. When I dropped the set point to -40°C, it eventually cooled down to 22°C, but never went below that. In fact, it heated back up to 25°C. So it heats up just fine, but I'm not sure how to make it cool down fully. I'm not sure if its the settings of the controller or what, but it does sound like the refrigeration compressor comes on. The set point displays in the pictures above seem very blury, but that is just an affect of the camera. The are clear and sharp when you see them with your own eyes. This chamber is being sold as-is.
