This 2001 collection presents a well-selected overview of the Mexico City-based ensemble's first four outings, starting with tracks from Tacuba's ambitious 1999 double album, REVES/YOSOY, and proceeding in reverse chronological order to songs from the group's '92 self-titled debut. Many of these tunes are produced by lauded Argentine musician Gustavo Santaolalla, who gives Café Tacuba's eclectic pop/rock experiments an atmospheric sheen (not unlike that found on Daniel Lanois's studio work), and often lends his own distinctive acoustic guitar playing to the mix.
