Impressive in both shape and beauty, this vase is adorned with intaglio cut landscape, that reflects elegance and timelessness of this piece. Completely hand crafted with three layers of mouth-blown glass, the design comes to life with cutting and etching techniques on various layers to bring out the colours. This vase is brand new and is a high quality reproduction of the original design by Emile Galle. THIS ITEM IS A SPECIAL EDITION OF HANDMADE PIECES EXCLUSIVE TO VENDOR AND IS NOT OFFERED FOR SALE IN ANY RETAIL SHOP. CAMEO GLASS is a technique similar to the cameo cutting of stones and shells use by the ancient Egyptians and Romans, and revived in the nineteenth century. The technique involves cased glass, or the overlaying of several thin layers of different colored glass, two and three and more rarely four or five, and then to acid-etch or wheel carve the design of one colour on another in relief. The difficulty of this technique lies in the fact that various layers must have the same dilation coefficient and the same thickness in order to avoid any breaking while the piece is cooling, or when working in the glass once it is cold. The chemical composition of each colored layer of glass is therefore decisive and kept secret.

Shipping policy

STRICTLY NO PICKUPS.
We ship items 3-4 days after payment.
We do not combine shipping, as the items are packed individually in large boxes.
Items are delivered by Australia Post, and only large furniture items have to go by courier.
Shipping cost includes insurance, packing materials, labour, warehousing and staff costs.

Courier (only for furniture):

Please allow 7-10 working days for delivery (usually much faster).
Deliveries by courier exclude weekends, holidays and after hours.
No PO Boxes for larger items.
Signature is required to accept deliveries. You can arrange the delivery time during checkout.
If you (or another person) are not home to accept delivery, item will be returned. Repeat delivery will attract another shipping charge.
Our courier is not responsible for any assembly work.

Insurance:

All our items are covered by transit insurance which is included in shipping costs.
