CANADA 1933 SPECIAL DELIVERY COVER FDR COLLECTION ITEM
Registered cover franked with 10c Etienne Cartier, 3c KGV, and 20c Special Delivery stamps. Cancelled with TORONTO cds, registered handstamp from same. Corner card of Liquor Control Board of Ontario. Backstamped with TORONTO and NEW YORK markings and WASHINGTON DC arrival markings. This cover may have some historical significance as it is addressed from a legal authority authorized to distribute liquor just at the time that FDR removed the prohibition and was in the process of having the 18th amendment repealed and substituted with the 21st amendment. Vertical fold clear of stamps, slight soiling spots, else sound. Backstamped with marking from HR HARMER indicating cover is "from the Franklin D. Roosevelt Collection."
