What Canberra calls the "Ge Detector Submarine" pictured above is a submergible enclosure designed to be used with Canberra's single port Multiple-Attitude Cryostat [MAC]. The submarine makes it possible to use a Germanium Detector for underwater surveys to a depth of approximately 20 feet. These submarine enclosures can also be custom built/modified for operation at greater depths by special order.
The submarine is a closed cylinder approximately 7 inches [178 mm] in diameter by 25.25 inches [541] long as noted in the attached diagram. A cover plate is provided having a rubber O-ring to form a water tight seal. Cables are routed to the surface via an umbilical cord which also acts as a vent path for the LN-2 boil-off gas. The submarine is shipped with an appropriate built-in lead ballast to ensure that the submarine sinks in fresh water.

I have been advised by a staffperson not directly involved in using the ISOCS, that the component shown below was used with the ISOCS in some manner, but I am not sure how. It appears to be a larger underwater submarine enclosure but it would be necessary to check with Canberra. It is over 12" in diameter and about 35" tall so it may have been used to contain the smaller ISOCS "Ge Detector Submarine" which is only 7" wide x 22" high.
