The 28mm wide-angle may be the most useful of all wide-angle lenses on a day-to-day basis - if you do a lot of group shots at night functions, you will appreciate it more than the 35mm or the 24mm lens. It has relatively strong rendition of perspective, but has less tendency to exaggerate perspective as compared to a 24mm or 20mm lens, for example. Camera angle for distortion-free straight lines is not as critical as with the shorter focal length lenses.
