Even if you collect serials and cliffhangers, this is a must have for your collection. In 1966, a group of ambitious cliffhanger fans put together this four-chapter serial about a menacing villain out to steal the only existing print of Stroheim's GREED. He's stolen The Great Train Robbery and other classic silent films but this takes the cake. So it's up to Captain Celluloid to battle the villain's henchmen and return GREED to the rightful owner before it's too late. Filmed in black and white (with author William K. Everson in the cast), this is actually a superb salute to the serials including a car going over a cliff to a boat house exploding. Will our hero survive the perils?
This DVD actually offers two prints of this serial. Both are beautiful quality (remastered) and both originate from one of the actors who participated in the serial back in 1966.
You may not be able to tell the difference between one print and another, but if your TV is LARGE, you'll see the picture differences.
