Presented for your consideration, here is a complete numbered set of Cartier World Wildlife Collection enameled covered boxes, made in England by Bilston and Battersea Enamels, including the padded display case. The collection, number 104 of a USA Edition of only 350, includes six enamel boxes: Snow Leopard, 2-1/2 inches in diameter; Ceylon Elephant, 2-1/2 inches in diameter; Bald Eagle, 2-3/4 inches by 1-7/8 inches; Polar Bear, 2-3/4 inches by 1-7/8 inches; Hawaiian Goose, 2-3/4 inches by 1-7/8 inches; and Galapagos Penguin, 2-3/4 inches by 1-7/8 inches. The padded oval case is about 9 inches by 7-1/2 inches by 20-1/4 inches high. Each box has a hand colored depiction of the animal on the lid, a panorama of the animal in its natural setting on the sides with a statment of its endangered status, and an appropriate saying of a prominent person: Indira Gandhi, Jacques Coustaeu, Sir Peter Scott, etc., inside the lid. In the bottom of each box is the World Wildlife Fund Panda. The set is in very good condition with no cracks or chips on the boxes. The set does, however, have some to the box metal frames, a couple of scratcehs to two boxes ( Leopard and Polar Bear ), and the Elephant box hinge is loose, so the box opens without effort. The case is in good condition, with no damage to the top or inside, but the back/bottom, which has a fold out stand bulit in, is missing about half the covering. The boxes are all marked as shown with number 104/350. A rare find |
