L.A. Artwork is made up of a team of artists dedicated to bringing you quality art at low prices.
We are the most imitated artists on Ebay (and now some galleries are showcasing our copycats) They say they offer "original not prints" works but many are not one of a kind and are silkscreened on canvas that are reproduced countless times. Our originals are priced at over $1,200 and rarely offered on Ebay and mostly are sold through galleries and directly to private collectors or through or webstore. As for the imitators we recognize we all have our own inspirations and we are flattered and yes sometimes even impressed. So we will forge ahead and let them take our style, ideas and even images hoping that the true collectors will appreciate and recognize the quality of our efforts to communicate in artistic form our passion for people, film, sports, music and great art.
Of course no one draws like Leon Jimenez who created his distinct style of photorealistic pencil renderings with bold acrylic accent colors in 1987. His drawing "Monroe on Phone" is featured in the book "Marilyn in Art". His original Frank Thomas drawing (of which no print exist) is owned by the future MLB Hall of Famer himself. His work has been featured in several galleries and art exhibits. He is proud that his work has been recognized by art collectors, gallery curators and notable artists as an example of some of the very finest images created in pencil and ink.
Pop artist Yuri (who admits some of his work was inspired by and is now some are even co-designed with Leon) has also created his own style of bold Pop images. His dramatic Superman is an instant classic and his sensual Angelina Jolie in B&W with colored lips became quickly imitated by other artists. A 36x24 canvas art print by Yuri of Japanese acting legend Toshiro Mifune was purchased by his family and hangs proudly at the offices of Mifune Productions Co. Ltd.
Jack Carr has created impressionistic sports art for years and is finally having an opportunity to showcase his amazing work. As one galley curator said, "It's what Leroy Neiman's work should look like" (we didn't say it and Jack admires Neiman's work and credits him as an inspiration)
