Quarrick Equipment and Auctions Inc has been a family owned and operated business since 1983, started by Tony and Barb Quarrick and later joined by two sons Mike and Matt Quarrick.  We are based in Uniontown, Pa but do business worldwide. We specialize in the buying, selling and trading of pre-owned construction and farm equipment items by both the auction method and private retail sales. In 2002 our company joined the ebay community and have then since achieved the power seller status. Our goal is to serve our customers to the best of our ability.  We are in our second generation and plan on continuing into the future, striving for improvement.  Our progress and success thus far establishes our reputation, our passion for the business and the manner in which we do business.

 When considering the purchase of our used equipment on ebay, we encourage you to come to our facility and personally inspect the equipment before bidding and buying.  If personal inspection is not an option for you, we urge you to do your research in order to obtain any additional information that you feel is important to you and your overall satisfaction after the sale.   We are open M-F 8am-5pm and other days by appointment...Please do not hesitate to call or email us with any question you may have regarding the item you desire to bid/buy, we are here to answer any question that will help you decide if our equipment is right for your specific needs.

TAX: YOU MUST READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL THE BELOW INFORMATION REGARDING SALES TAX BEFORE BIDDING ON OUR ITEMS!!!!!

If the item produces a crop and you are a farmer and will sign a PA farm exemption certificate, you will not have to pay PA sales tax.  If you do not understand what an item that produces a crop is, see below:

Examples of items that produce a crop: Farm Tractors, Haybines and hay mowers, hay balers, planters, grain drills, skid steers (farm use only) etc etc.

Examples of items that DO NOT produce a crop and are NOT exempt from PA tax whether you are a farmer or not: Skid steers(construction use only), Backhoe Loaders, Crawler loaders and dozers, Excavators, Lawn mowers, any and all contruction equipment, etc etc.

Out of state buyers and MARYLAND Residents, SEE BELOW:

If you are not from the state of Pennsylvania, not a farmer who purchased a tax exempt item and you (the buyer) travel into the state of PA and pick the item up yourself, you WILL pay PA sales tax on your item unless the item is being purchased for RESALE and you have a valid resale or exemption number.

If you have a 3rd party trucking company come pick your item for you and deliver the item out of the state of PA and the trucking company can furnish us with a Bill of Lading showing the item being delivered out of the state of PA, you are not required to pay PA sales tax.  You (the buyer) cannot be the trucking company...

We have a MD sales tax license, so if you are from the state of Maryland, we will collect MD state sales tax if you have the item shipped to the state of MD via third party trucking company unless proper exemption is supplied.   If you are from MD and travel to PA to pickup and pay for your item and the item is taxable and you do not have proper exemption, you will pay PA sales tax.

If you have read the above terms and still are not sure if the item is subject to tax, please contact us before you bid.

If you are unwilling to abide by the above terms regarding items subject to tax, DO NOT bid on our items. We are not trying to be tough with anyone, we just want to make sure that everything is understood prior to bidding. If it is a titled vehicle and is being sold with a title, tax will be paid at time of registration at your local notary. 

IF YOUR MAXIMUM BID WILL EXCEED $15,000, PLEASE READ:

Bidders intending to bid $15,000.00 and over will sometimes have to be pre-approved by ebay (it is for your own safety if you do not bid that amount often). Please check and see if you are approved, several customers have missed the item they wanted in the last minutes of the auction by not being approved.  Being approved is usually just as simple as having a Credit card on file with eBay to verify your identity.

New eBay Buyers: 

We have been getting a lot of phone calls recently about getting outbid at the last second by a small amount of money.  We encourage you to use eBay's proxi bid system to place your maximum bid early instead of trying to buy it at the last second.  There are quite a few proffesional internet buyers with bidding software that are able to place their maximum bid at the last second and win the auction.  Placing your maximum bid early assures that your bid is set in from the get go, eliminating the possibility of losing the bid on an item due to your bid not being placed quick enough.  Ebay's proxi bid system will only bid on your behalf up to the amount required to be the next highest bidder, it will not automatically take you to your maximum bid, unless that would happen to be the amount required to be the next highest bidder, in that case, you would need to rethink the amount that you would like to bid.    We like to see everyone have a shot at winning the bid on our items, not just the pro's.

PAYMENT:

Payment is due in-full within 7 days from the end of the auction.  Do not bid on our item if you cannot pay for it.  Non-payment will result in negative feedback and an unpaid item strike.  Acceptable forms of payment are Certified funds such as; Cashiers check (bank check), Wire transfer, Loan check, master card/visa (other fees incurred when using credit cards please contact us for details before planning on credit card payment) or cash in hand upon pickup.  Business check's and personal checks are NOT acceptable forms of payment upon pickup.  NO PAYPAL, NO EXCEPTIONS!  If you send a business check or personal check as payment, your item will be held for pickup until payment has cleared.  International buyers must pay via wire transfer, no checks.  Any and all wire transfer fees are the responsibility of the buyer and funds MUST be in US Dollars.

SHIPPING:

ALL AND ANY SHIPPING COST INCURRED WITH THIS TRANSACTION IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER !!!

We have several outlets to help arrange shipping. Personal pick-up at our place of business is also available.

For Palleted items (i.e buckets, rakes, wheel/tires, skid steer attachments, etc. etc.): Please contact Freight Quote at 1-800-323-5441 ext 1349 for our companies discounted rate.   We apologize for the inconvenience, but due to freight charge discrepancies, we are no longer quoting freight charges on palletized items, you (the bidder) will need to arrange the trucking.  For items that will require a custom built pallet for shipping, there will be a $100 charge for pallet construction. 

 Quarrick Equipment and Auctions is not responsible for additional freight charges due to weight discrepancies on palleted items, no exceptions.  This is Farm and Construction equipment, not envelopes, packages and greeting cards, some items are very difficult to weigh due to size and shape so when we describe the weight as being "Estimated" that is exactly what it is, an ESTIMATE.  We do try our best to get as accurate of a weight as possible, but sometimes, it just isn't possible. All Items are subject to Reweigh/Reclass at common carrier's discretion.   Drivable machinery weights are taken from sources deemed reliable when possible, however, some tractors may have loaded tires, loaders, wheel weights, etc. so we try to factor that in as best we can when estimated a machines weight, just keep in mind that it may not be exact.

For larger items (Tractors, skidsteers, dozers, etc.):  Please contact Ann Symmonds at Ryan transport 1-800-383-5231 ext 6506.  They have great rates and have proven to be a reliable shipping source.  We have good rates to locations where our trucks travel frequently (such as Pa,Wv,Md,Ny,Oh,In, NC, SC, Ga, Central FL. Please email to see if we are traveling near your area. Please email me with your location (city and state) and I will try to best advise your shipping needs.

STORAGE:

Items may be stored at our location for up to 6 months from the end of the auction, but they must be paid in full by the terms stipulated in the payment section.  Items are stored at buyers risk, which means if the item sits here over that 6 month period and the batteries are dead,  tires flat, stale fuel, or whatever the case maybe it is the buyers responsibility for those problems.  Items sitting here over the 6 month will be charged $25.00 dollars per day, per item for storage for a period of  2  months, if it is here at the end of the 2 month period it will be considered abandon and will be sold for the storage cost with no reimbursement to the buyer.

We at Quarrick Equipment represent the equipment up for auction to the best of our knowledge. Please keep in mind that it is still used equipment and the nature of its work. We do not guarantee hours of usage, however we do try to evaluate the equipment and give an educated opinion of accuracy. Our information such as hp, specs, year, ect are gathered from sources deemed reliable, however we will not be responsible for errors.  Quarrick Equipment is not responsible for missing or inoperable safety features on equipment.   Safe operation is the responsibility of the operator.  Serial numbers are usually provided or can be provided upon request, so the bidder can conduct their own research.  Personal inspections of items are always welcomed and encouraged prior to bidding.  Buy with confidence, as we have a good reputation both on ebay and at our home store!!! ABOUT USED EQUIPMENT:

This is an AUCTION meaning items are sold as-is by competitive bidding. I understand how hard it is to spend your hard earned money without seeing an item; we do not want to take advantage of anyone and do not want to be taken advantage of ourselves. All items are sold AS-IS. Unless otherwise stated our items are sold to have sound engine and drive train, here at our location, once it leaves here it is your responsibility. However, please remember when bidding, you are bidding on used equipment, not new. A large majority of ours or anyone's used items are going to have some normal used equipment symptoms: we do not guarantee such minor items as scratches, dents, oil drips, not every light or gauge works, wear on parts that are wear points, hoses, batteries, tires, seats etc. Do not come after the auction to pickup your item and kick the tires because of some minor defect we missed that you feel should have been mentioned!  We try to represent to the best of our knowledge and state any major or out of the ordinary problems. If you are overly concerned with some of the usual used equipment symptoms, maybe brand new equipment would better suit your needs. IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS PLEASE DO NOT BID!!   Please look at all the pictures and ask any questions prior to bidding, not after.  We have been in business for 25 years and sell several thousand of units a year, I believe we are fairly good judges of used equipment.
