Simple description: This computer CD-Rom contains SEVEN extremely rare books that were used extensively by CT Russell during his early bible stydy. He very often reccomended and quoted from them in the early pages of the Watch Tower magazine. The originals (in the editions we have) sell on ebay for over $900! Here you can read them for just a few bucks: The Present Truth 1873 (Written by Jonas Wendell, the Adventist preacher who Russell heard speaking one night in Pittsburg, leading to his own bible study!) The Midnight Cry 1842 (The first issue of the journal written by William Miller, who was among the first to teach some of the truths found in the bible) Views of Prophecies & Chronology 1841 (William Miller's early look at how to calculate the end of the Gentile Times using the scriptures.) A Maricle in Stone 1877 (Written by Joseph Seiss- this book was what interested Russell in the Great Pyramid of Egypt and how it may fit into bible Prophecy- an idea he was devoted to the rest of his life!) Lectures on the Apocalypse (3 volumes) 1845 (Joseph Seiss' look at the Book of Revelation, which Russell studied very carefully while planning his own commentary- which he never lived to write.) A bit of extra info: Before the Watch Tower was even thought of, a young man named Charles Taze Russell and an older man named Nelson Barbour published a bible journal called Herald of the Morning. This is one of the rarest bits of Society history! The journal was revived in 1878 with the financial backing of Russell, who had recently sold his interests in the family business, and the two went to work studying the bible. The relationship was short lived, for in 1879 the two split and Russell went on to begin his own journal- Zion's Watch Tower. These journals are EXTREMELY rare, so much so that the only way to read them is with these "less than top quality" photocopies. They are from the original issues- NOT TRANSCRIPTS! While the ink is a bit light, they are very readable and frankly, the best we will ever have. So enjoy! This volume covers the year 1879 Jan-June. (There were none after June) Over 100 double sided 5X8 pages, bound together with heavy staples. (1878 Volume is also available in our store!)
