House of Hardys Angler's Guide, 1917 Season
Lots of Color Plates!! Over 400+ Pages of Fishing! This book is missing half of page 178 (which was knot tying).
Rare Vintage Antique Anglers Guide Reproduced onto CD. I took the original catalog and scanned it, warts and all.
From the House of Hardy Brothers in Alnwick, England, comes their vintage Angler Catalog. It has rods, reels, lures, pictures, stories, and product information. Competing with Heddon, W.D. Chapman Talbot, and Tuttle -but browsing this catalog one can see the quality and Humor would make the Hardy Brothers' Catalog book a keeper. Great book and cost me over $300 to bring to you on CD.
The House of Hardy was started in 1872 when William Hardy started a gunsmith shop in Alnwick, England. After a few years, when joined by brother John James Hardy, the direction of the enterprise took a turn for the better as the brothers’ passion for fishing became their business. Not to rest on their laurels, the company was an innovator in many forms of fishing gear. By 1880 they produced greenheart and bamboo rods. In 1891 they patented the first Hardy “Perfect” reel.
This 1917 catalog is special in many ways.
