NOTE: THERE IS NO CD INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION. THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE LONG BOX ONLY. PLEASE READ THE AUCTION DESCRIPTION BEFORE PLACING A BID FOR THIS ITEM. A BID IS A CONTRACT, AND IF YOU BID ON THIS LONG BOX AND THEN COMPLAIN THAT YOU DIDN'T GET A CD, YOU'RE GOING TO LOOK PRETTY FOOLISH, ESPECIALLY NOW THAT WE'VE JUST GIVEN YOU THIS WARNING.
This auction is for a cardboard CD "long box." Long boxes were used as packaging for new CDs until the mid-1990's. These boxes, often imprinted with a larger version of the album art, were scrapped as environmentally wasteful and are no longer used for packaging.
We are listing hundreds of long boxes over the next several weeks from the closing of Madhatter Music, in Bowling Green, Ohio. Madhatter, like many stores, would put the empty long box out on display, then keep the actual CD behind the counter, to deter shoplifters. Many of these long boxes are still in their original shrinkwrap, which has been opened on one end to remove the CD. Most have a Madhatter price sticker on the front (stuck to the shrinkwrap, not the box), as well as a sticker saying "CD is available at the counter" or words to that effect.
These have been on a record store shelf for a while and may be slightly worn. However, they're in overall excellent condition, and are quite nice for collectors who want EVERYthing from their favorite bands.
Of course, we are happy to combine shipping as well - so if this one long box has caught your fancy, look at our other listings and perhaps you can find enough to decorate your whole music room. Frame them, display them, be creative - this is a great collector's item that you won't find every day! |

SHIPPING: |
USA, Canada, Mexico: $3.00 Anywhere else: $6.00
Delivery confirmation is added FREE to all USA shipments. Insurance and other special services are available, at your request, for an additional fee.
PLEASE NOTE: the prices above are for shipping in a bubble mailer with cardboard backing. We've successfully shipped dozens of long boxes in bubble mailers so far. However, if you'd rather, we can ship your long box in a sturdy cardboard LP mailer. As these cost more money, and weigh more, your shipping charge will be higher. Just email Keith at the end of the auction for a quote on shipping with an LP mailer, if you prefer.
If you win a few boxes, we can combine your shipping total and factor in the cost of the LP mailer, and you'll still save money.
We are not responsible for items when they leave our care. We do not run the post office. By bidding on this auction, you agree that our postage log is proof of mailing and that we are not responsible for lost or damaged packages.

Exile Toledo is a new name for an old venture -- we've been selling music, books, games, movies and apparel online since 1996! We've also run several bricks-and-mortar record stores, the most recent being Madhatter Music Co. in Bowling Green, Ohio.
With the birth of my daughter in May 2007, it became clear that I needed to make a change - not just in the way I used my time, but in how I approached the retail side of a business in the throes of major change. I now work from home during the week, and we operate from the Erie Street Market in downtown Toledo, Ohio on weekends.
We focus primarily on used (or, as we like to call it, "pre-rocked") stuff -- everything from rare and collectible books and LP's, to bins full of bargain-basement CDs and cheap paperbacks. I sell what I love and surround myself with the things I enjoy the most -- it makes working for a living a lot easier!
Stop down to our new location some weekend and say hello if you're in the Toledo area (photos coming soon). And thanks for taking the time to read about our little venture.
