This auction includes ten string-bound bifolium tomes (ch'uan) in one bone clasp case (t'ao). One of the clasps is missing. Measurements are 6 x 10 x 2 inchecs. Case shows moderate shelf wear. Considerable rubbing wear to title plate, with some loss. Endpapers mildly toned, else very good. Bifoliums show a couple points of wear along edges and mild foxing throughout, otherwise are in very good condition. Approximate publication date appears to be between 1910-1920. I am uncertain as about the subject matter of the text so PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS ITEM UNLESS YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT. The previous owner provided a slip of paper, which loosely translates the title of each respective tome. The paraphrased titles are;
1. Official Ching Records
2. Manchu names into Chinese
3. Songs collected / Congratulatory songs of the court
4. Posthumous names continued
5. Official title of princes and high officials
6. Official titles and posthumous names, translated into Manchu
7. Anecdotes of Imperial Guards
8. Author's personal anecdotes
9. Notes written down for conversation
10. Conversations about this and that
