Famille Rose , Meaning "the pink family". Famille-rose enamels were first introduced around the end of the 1720's for use on porcelain. The best quality famille-rose export wares date from the Yongzheng period (1723-1735). The majority of the enamels is opaque or semi-opaque and does not flow when fired. The palette takes its name from the rose-colored enamel, which derives its color from colloidal gold. Other significant colors in this palette are opaque yellow and opaque white. In China this palette is included in what is termed as fencai (powder colors).
TL CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY :
Buyer may request our items TL tested (thermo luminescence) for items in our Hong Kong distribution point. We are not responsible for the testing expenses.
A TL-test could be made on all kinds of fired pottery such as earthenware, stoneware as well as true porcelain. Even antique bronzes could be dated this way provided they are made with a clay core which is sometimes the case.
TL is short for "Thermoluminescence test" which is scientific method of calculating the age of antiques. It was developed in the 1960's at Oxford University in England. Technically a small sample is taken from the object and heated up in a laboratory. During this heating a faint "blue light" is emitted and mesaured which depending on the amount emitted gives an estimate on how much time that has passed since the object was last fired.
The sample should be taken only by an experienced technician from the company who will do the actual test. The holes made in the piece are the size of a pencil lead and does not distract from the value of a pottery piece if the test is properly documented (and the results are positive regarding its authenticity :-).
A TL-test should only be expected to tell whether a piece is "antique or new". Typically, the test is able to measure the time that has passed since the object was last fired to within plus or minus 30 percent of the actual time span, depending on the type of clay and the testing method used. A test report for a pottery object created 1,000 years ago will thus only indicate a likely date for its last firing as 1,000 years ago +/- 300 years.
INVEST IN HISTORY :
Authentic Chinese Ancient Artifacts is extremely rare and anyone collecting these precious ARTIFACTS should understand both the rarity and the investment potential. Historically there has been a critical shortage of quality Ancient artifacts and prices have been much higher than current values. Those of you who are considering investing or collecting ANCIENT CHINESE artifacts will be greatly rewarded, as the source of today's affordable Ancient artifacts will soon be gone. The current Ancient Artifacts market values and availability are a quirk of history. For the first time in known history Western treasure hunters have the opportunity to acquire the most precious and valued treasures of China. The popularity of these ancient artifacts treasures by Chinese and foreigners alike will greatly increase values as we approach the first decade of the new millennium. Ancient Chinese Artifacts is much more than a collectable; it is a great investment in ancient History.

To all Ebay Users : Whether you buy your antiquities from us or other ebay sellers we strongly recommend that you show all your purchases to your nearest reputable state museum for authentication and peace of mind. Unfortunately the ancient art market is cursed with a high proportion of fakes. Fakes often look better than real antiquities to the inexperienced eye - they are often intact, invariably unrestored and their colours are more vivid. Our buyers can count on a 100% money back guarantee if a state museum judges their purchase to be non-ancient. Seek the same re-assurance from all those who sell to you.
By the way, We made this a Private Auction so that bidder's e-mail addresses would not show up on the item page, thereby sparing those good bidders of the ceaseless efforts of spammers to "mine" eBay's pages for fresh names (there are programs called "bots" that automatically pull addresses from web pages) - this way, your e-mail address does not show up on the page and you will get less spam .
Return Policy : If item arrived not as described , we will issue a full refund . Full refund will be issued if the item is returned and must be received in their original condition .
Our items are guaranteed to be Authentic . If you are not completely satisfied, you may return your purchase for a full refund .Our Guarantee has No Time Limit . A genuine antique is, of course, genuine for all time and not just for ten days or a month and so sellers not offering such a guarantee as ours should possibly be avoided.
