CHINOISERIE Faux Bamboo Walnut Fireplace Screen

Offered for auction is a Victorian Walnut Aesthetic Movement Faux Bamboo Fireplace Screen in VG to EXC. condition. The fabric on the wooden palette in the center can be changed although I see no way to remove it. I think you just remove the current fabric and trim that is tacked on. It looks like the original to me.* These became popular with the influence of Japanese art on the arts at the end of the 19^th c. and for a short time some very fine furniture was made. This screen is 47” tall, 33” wide, and 14” deep. It only weighs 10 lbs. so shipping might be an option even with UPS. I’m offering it for local pickup only but you can get quotes easily for shipping from the information below or by just calling UPS yourself.

Should you purchase the screen, you must pay for it through Pay Pal, a cleared personal check, or cashier’s check before pick-up. If you find it does not meet the criteria as described we will issue you a refund, but it is an act of good faith on your part to pay for it, first. We’ve unfortunately made arrangements for people to pick up items only to have them cancel once and ever twice which is not fair to us. This primitive piece is at 21300 Old York Rd. in Parkton MD 21120 about twenty minutes south of York PA and 20 minutes North of Baltimore just off I-83.
